REHEARSAL: Pony tails one or two are encouraged for the winter season for the cheer and dance theme. We also encourage
hair ties and bows.
SHOWS AND RECITALS: Both boys and girls will need make up applied and hair fixed accordingly.
HAIR: Boys if they have long hair and covers the face will need to pull hair back. Use assigned head or hair piece according
to routines or use hair decoration of your choice matching costume color. If your child is in more than one routine, you may want to use hair pieces attacked
to bobby pins to allow quick change of hair piece or simply use white or silver or gold.
MAKE UP: Both boys and girls will need a nice smooth cover of foundation powder to give face some color. Under stage
lights their skin turn white from the bright lights. They will also need rosy cheeks again to add color to the face so they appear more natural. Girls only
will need matching color eye shadow that matches their costume or if doing multiple routines or two different colors or eye shadow not provided in the color,
use silver, gold costumes wear gold.
For older children we do encourage use of eye liner to help enhance their eyes and mascara is optional.
We do recommend that all girls wear red colored lip covering, however keep it simple do not make it very dark, I suggest that parents
apply the lip coloring and have them pat off with tissue, then apply gloss over the lips and color. This is much more appealing then a dark stand outish
look of a red plastered lip. I also recommend this for preschoolers to use lip gloss and Lil Kidz. This way they don't get lip stick on costume.
TIGHTS: All female dancers will need tights under costume. See costume order area for color tights needed.
OLDER KIDS "TEENS": GIrls that are more mature have concerns about wearing bra or under garment under the
costumes. We do encourage that they wear anything they feel comfortable with. If they wish to use a body posture bra, please make sure it is not too tight
that they cannot bend over. Half bras with attached lower body posture bra are very handy and work best. They can also opt to wear regular bras with clear
plastic straps for find bras with skin tone color that matches their skin. Some tips also, if the costume is hanging low in the back making the bra exposed,
use safety pins to pin up the costume over the bra. I do ask that parents be sympathetic to our older mature girls and their feelings regards this issue
to assure them that it can be fixed and taken care of. Special performing bras can also be ordered and purchased through KKZ or a web site called Just for
Kix (use google to find it) or type in http://justforkix.com
UNDIES: Some may blush, please note that is it NOT COMMON that dancers will wear under pants under their tights and
costumes. This is why we wear tights in the first place. While I will not make it a requirement, it is not the best way to have the best experience in a
show for older girls if their under pant is hanging out of the sides of their costumes around the legs. I have seen many like this. I simply prefer that
kids of ALL AGES do not wear underwear under their costume. Young dancers preschoolers some may be wearing training pants to prevent accident, it is suggested
that because of no time for bathroom break, young dancers wear pull up pants to the show during recital time.
